Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the SVP of Accounting, the Accounting Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the needs of the Property Management Accounting team by assisting with various banking tasks and daily office needs; helping to maintain various financial reports, records, and general ledgers; and performing general bookkeeping.

Essential Functions:
• Perform general clerical duties, including operation of various office equipment, such as check scanners and photocopiers
• Periodic data entry of financial data for Cash Forecasting
• Sort and deliver mail to appropriate team members
• Manage schedules and calendars and arrange appointments when needed
• Run errands as requested
• Review files, records and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests
• Coordinate the opening and updating of information for various bank accounts
• Handle administrative requests and queries
• Support other accounts payable activities as needed
• Follow our company’s established accounting processes
• Participate in the period end close
• Record various journal entries as assigned
• Assist in preparation of documentation for external and internal auditors
• Research and interpret data in order to respond to both internal and external inquiries
• Reconcile assigned accounts
• Handle additional miscellaneous projects and requests as needed

Qualifications

Education:  High-school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus

 

Experience:  2 - 4 years of relevant experience; construction industry a plus

 

Technical Skills:  Intermediate to Advanced Excel; Knowledge of Timberline and Yardi software a plus

 

Driver’s License Required: Yes
