During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, NRP reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to identify available multifamily community rental units for victims. Funding was approved for both affordable and market-rate multifamily housing in what is now the Beechgrove Subdivision just outside New Orleans. Our 100 beach-inspired homes for residents earning 50-60% of the area median income are fully loaded with their own washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, intrusion alarm and more. Going a step above, there is also an on-site day-care facility, 24/7 maintenance, and community events hosted throughout the year. The NRP Group was the first affordable developer to complete a project of this kind.
