NRP Investments LLC is currently seeking a Property Management Accountant to join our team in Cleveland!

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Management Accounting, the Management Accountant focuses on reporting and review of a portfolio of affordable and market rate multi-family properties.

Location: This will be a hybrid role with flexibility to work from the Cleveland corporate office and remotely.

  • Responsible for transitioning of the accounting functions of projects under construction into property management.

  • Responsible for the portfolio’s financial reporting lifecycle including reviewing budgets, forecasts, distributions, audits, and variance analysis.

  • Performs GL account analysis and cash management.

  • Posts monthly journal entries and accruals.

  • Completes month-end closings and reconciles bank statements.

  • Communicate with various departments including Corporate Accounting team, Management, Legal, Asset Management, Tax, Operations and Third-Party stakeholders.

  • Assist in periodic valuations of the property portfolio for Asset Management and Corporate financial teams.

  • Apply US GAAP and audit methodology to review property financial statements and respond to external auditor and other stakeholders’ questions related to the statements.

  • In conjunction with the legal department, review and interpret various legal documents that govern the properties operations including organizational structure, partnership, management, loan, and distribution agreements.

  • SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/MBA preferred

  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience preferably in public accounting

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Yardi software a plus
