The NRP Group is currently seeking a Paralegal to join our in-house legal team at the Cleveland, OH office!

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs paralegal services for NRP’s real estate development projects as they move through all stages of development, construction and operations. NRP’s projects consist of affordable and market-rate multi-family housing projects throughout the United States.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attend to title and survey matters.

  • Drafting and ordering organizational documents for NRP entities for closings, including corporate resolutions.

  • Drafting documents related to real estate purchase agreements, including amendments and notices.

  • Drafting closing documents as needed for closings.

  • Reviewing financial commitment letters.

  • Evaluating development fee agreements.

  • Formation of new corporate entities.

  • Maintain corporate records.

  • Maintain records of financing transactions.

  • Data entry of transaction information as needed.

  • Review various state submission applications and requests for proposals in connection with ground up development opportunities.

  • Interacting with NRP’s internal counsel and outside counsel in various states.

  • Interacting with various business units at NRP, including, but not limited to the following groups, development, capital markets, asset management, accounting, property management, and construction.

  • Coordination of execution of closing and other documents by NRP Principals and affiliates.

  • Assisting in the collection of internal documents and other information in response to formal requests from third parties (i.e., subpoenas, discovery requests, etc.).

  • SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education

    :  High School Degree/GED. College degree and paralegal certificate preferred.

    Experience:  2+ years as a Real Estate or Corporate Paralegal

    Technical SkillsProficient in Word, and Power Point.  Attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Driver’s License Required: Yes

    Other Requirements:  Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.  Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ohio Notary Public certification preferred.
