    The Workers' Compensation and Leave Analyst is responsible for administration of all worker’s comp and leave programs from initiation through closure, including all communication, documentation, payroll coordination and system updates. The position will serve as a resource for all leave and worker’s comp related inquiries and support all leave and worker’s comp related processes and audits.

    Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for work injuries. Submits worker’s compensation claims to insurance carrier.
  • Ensures the workers’ compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and worker’s compensation laws.
  • Coordinates leave of absence and accommodation paperwork for employees as requested.
  • Interprets and manages all aspects of leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable company, federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Maintains WC and LOA records with a high degree of accuracy ensuring all new requests, updates and closed requests are tracked and updated in a timely manner.
  • Exercises independent judgement to approve and/or deny leave cases based on relevant medical information. Follow ups with employees to obtain clarity around information provided. Coordinates and organizes all medical information.
  • Partners closely with HR Business Partners on all leave cases and workers' compensation claims; meets regularly to review claims’ statuses and develops strategies for resolution.
  • Works with Payroll to ensure employees on applicable leaves are paid accurately while on leave.
  • Proactively monitors and makes recommendations for process improvements to improve worker’s comp and leave administration and service delivery.
  • Performs audits on workers comp and leave data as required.
  • Point person for all workers comp audits.
  • Processes worker’s comp invoices and ensures all policies are up to date.
  • Provides input on leave policies and procedures and ensures documentation is current.
  • Qualifications

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field preferred.

    Experience:  Four years of progressive Human Resources experience with at least two years of worker’s comp and leave of absence administration preferred.

    Technical Skills:  Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel), Experience with payroll processing systems (Workday preferred)
