    Responsibilities

    The NRP Investments, LLC is currently seeking a Construction Attorney & Vice President in the Cleveland, OH Office.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Construction Attorney will serve as Senior Legal Counsel and Vice President and provide legal counsel for NRP’s construction companies. NRP’s projects consist of construction and development of affordable and market-rate multi-family housing projects across 13 states.

    Essential Functions Statement(s):

    • Manage a team of attorneys and paralegals. 
    • Draft and negotiate AIA construction agreements for ground up construction and rehab work.
    • Draft and negotiate agreements with architects, design professionals, subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Supervise and collaborate with external counsel in negotiation and drafting of various agreements. 
    • Handle internal aspects of transactional process on behalf of the construction companies, including tracking and preparing closing deliverables and coordinating action items.
    • Interact with NRP’s President of Construction, General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and other members of the NRP legal team and outside counsel in various states as well as with NRP’s construction staff, development staff, accounting staff and other senior team members.
    • Assist construction teams with analyzing and ensuring compliance with project specific contractual obligations and legal requirements. 
    • Monitor, track and identify new and existing challenges facing NRP’s construction teams and update NRP’s construction related contract forms accordingly.
    Qualifications

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education: J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school

    Experience: 6-10 years of relevant experience, including experience drafting and negotiating AIA agreements

    Technical Skills: Proficient in Word, Power Point, and Excel

    Other Requirements: Licensed to practice law
