NRP Investments, LLC is seeking a Senior Payroll & Systems Analyst in Cleveland, OH. This will be a hybrid role with flexibility to work from our Cleveland office and remotely.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Payroll & Systems Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day payroll operations and processing for approximately 1,000 employees. The incumbent will work closely with our 3rd party partner, maintaining a strong relationship and ensuring payroll processes are performed with accuracy and compliance in mind. This role is also responsible for providing support for daily transactions in our HR System (Workday). The incumbent will work with employees and managers to resolve issues and provide guidance on payroll and other HR-related transactional system matters. With an eye for continuous improvement, this role will partner with the Payroll Manager and other HR leaders in identifying, developing, and implementing new and revised payroll/HR processes and procedures that align with company objectives.
Essential Functions
General Payroll Operations
Perform internal reporting, processes and procedures needed to prepare for regular payroll cycles
Work closely with 3rd party to ensure accurate payroll processing of our weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
Prepare/process bonuses and commissions for various departments and commission-based roles
Assist managers, employees, accounting team and other stakeholders with payroll inquiries and resolving issues by conducting fact finding and data analysis
Partner with Office Management team on sorting, distributing and addressing payroll department mail
Assist with year-end payroll/compensation activities as needed
Proactively identify and recommend payroll process improvements to drive efficiencies and ensure controls are in place
Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Ensure payroll operations are consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws, FSLA regulations as well as company policy
Understand payroll compliance including wage & hour and FLSA regulations
Support the processing and balancing of general ledger files each pay cycle
Serve as back-up in creating general ledger files for inputs outside of payroll processing
Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned
Systems Support
Provide support for transactions needed in HR System – Workday modules include: HCM, recruiting, benefits, payroll, absence, advanced compensation, time off and reporting.
Critically review internal processes and procedures identifying opportunities for streamlining and/or efficiencies
Lead testing on all system upgrades and make recommendations on feature adoption.
Work with business leaders to develop reports/metrics/KPIs.
Partner with internal systems department, external vendors, and consultants
Perform data audits and providing day to day system maintenance to monitor and maintain data accuracy.
Develop, document, and maintain system audits and procedures.
Create and modify ad hoc reports as needed
Maintain schedule and delivery of ongoing reports to meet HR team and client needs
Manage assigned Workday cases
Assist with payroll and other reporting as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years payroll processing and system support experience. Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of employees, vendor, and other business partners.
Technical Skills: Experience with HRIS system administration, maintenance, and reporting. Workday experience is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
