NRP Group celebrates Parsons Village Senior Apartments Grand Opening
--City of Columbus, Community Development for All People & NRP Group Celebrate Grand Opening of $10 Million Parsons Village Senior Apartment Community

Columbus, OH—(June 19, 2015) The official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Parsons Village Senior Apartments took place Thursday, June 18,2015. The 56 new garden style apartment homes located in the heart of Columbus at 1854 S. Washington Avenue, are designed for independent living for seniors 55 and better.

Dignitaries speaking at the event included Rev. John Edgar, Executive Director, Community Development for All People, Andrew Ginther, President, Columbus City Council; Paula Brooks, Franklin County Commissioner, Rita Parise, Housing Administrator, City of Columbus; Douglas Garver, Executive Director of Ohio Housing Finance Agency and Aaron Pechota, Sr. VP Development, The NRP Group.

“This project is an ongoing effort to revitalize the South Side of Columbus by providing much needed affordable senior rental housing and leveraging the success of Southern Gateway Homes,” stated Mayor Michael B. Coleman. “The proximity to the Maloney Health Center provides access to necessary health services while ensuring seniors can live independently.”

Community Development for All People partnered with The NRP Group, a national developer,to bring this much needed senior apartment community to Columbus. US Bancorp placed their investment into this development as they round out the partnership with NRP and Community Development for All People.

“Parsons Village is a wonderful addition to the Southern Gateway community. These elegant apartments provide high quality housing with affordable rents for our senior citizens,” stated Rev. John Edgar,Executive Director, Community Development for All People. “Parsons Village is a major contribution to the ongoing renaissance of the South Side of Columbus. As one of the new senior residents stated, ‘These are luxury apartments that anyone can afford. ‘ “

Parsons Village is the result of individuals, businesses and government working together to ensure continued growth in the Columbus South Side community. "Seniors deserve safe, affordable housing and US Bank is proud to invest in Parsons Place,"said Rob Wasserman, vice president of US Bancorp Community Development Corporation. "Affordable housing developments aren't the easiest to obtain financing for, but we have a strong commitment to making these projects come together smoothly so that our communities benefit."

Developed, built and managed by The NRP Group, Parsons Village represents a $10 million investment into the community. The property was specifically designed with seniors in mind and offers newly built affordable two-bedroom spacious apartment homes with an array of features including fully-equipped kitchens, a large community room and patio, fitness center, computer center and planned activities.
