Austin Kates joined The NRP Group in 2023 as a Vice President of Development.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Austin develops market rate housing across the state of Arizona with a primary focus on the Phoenix MSA. Prior to joining The NRP Group, Austin was a Development Associate at The Wolff Company, where he led the firm’s sourcing efforts in Texas markets including Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth. Beginning at The Wolff Company as an analyst, he oversaw the underwriting and due diligence process for over 2,500 units spanning a variety of product types including multi-family, adaptive reuse, and senior living across Arizona, Texas, and northern Virginia markets.

Austin graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University where he studied finance and real estate at the Kelley School of Business. Outside of the office, Austin is a member of Urban Land Institute as well as the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix, a philanthropic organization dedicated to serving underprivileged children in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
