James Alsbrook
Vice President of Horizontal Design & Entitlements

James Alsbrook joined The NRP Group in 2017 and serves as Vice President of Horizontal Design and Entitlements and functions as the HDEM for NRP’s development projects in the Southeast. He is responsible for overseeing the horizontal design process, including civil engineering, site planning, permitting, and zoning.

Alsbrook has broad experience in development within the multi-family housing industry including Affordable Housing, Class “A” Luxury Apartments, Senior Housing and Student Housing. His past expertise includes working on urban infill developments that are part of strategic neighborhood revitalization initiatives like brownfields, transit-orientated developments and repurposing of under-utilized property.

Alsbrook is skilled in working with both public and private sector partners including federal, state and local governments as well as Joint Venture relationships with private for-profit, not for-profit organizations and quasi-public entities. Since joining NRP in 2017, he has lead NRP entitlement efforts more than 20 deals totaling over $1 billion in development value.

Prior to joining the NRP Group, Alsbrook worked as the Vice President of Development at the Collier Companies. During that time, he oversaw six projects varying from Class “A” Luxury apartments to Class “A” Student Housing. In his role, Alsbrook performed project management, complex financial modeling and analysis, strategic planning and construction oversight expertise to each development.

Alsbrook graduated with distinction from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida in 2010, where he earned his MBA with a concentration on Finance and Real Estate and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. He serves as a Board Member on the Multifamily Council for the Urban Land Institute.
