Joseph Torg
Senior Vice President of Development
Back to NRP Leadership

Joseph Torg joined The NRP Group in 2017 as Vice President of Development to co-found NRP’s Mid-Atlantic Division, which handles market rate and affordable housing development from Philadelphia to Richmond, Virginia, with a focus on the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

His primary responsibilities include sourcing new projects and managing all aspects of the development cycle.

Torg has more than 30 years of real estate development experience and has participated in developing over 9,000 multifamily units across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions as well as Florida. His experience includes lower-density garden apartments, high-density mid-rise, and urban high-rise designs, including transit-oriented and Brownfield developments.

Prior to joining NRP, Torg was with The Bainbridge Companies where he was responsible for sourcing and executing multifamily rental and student housing developments in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Before Bainbridge, he was a Senior Managing Director for Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) and Mill Creek Residential Trust. He restarted TCR’s Northeast Division in 1998 and was responsible for all development activities through 2010. During that time, he executed multifamily projects in northern New Jersey, Jersey City, Long Island and Boston. After Mill Creek spun-off from TCR in 2010, he was responsible for the East Coast region of the company’s new acquisition group.

Torg holds a Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
